This was years ago, but yesterday, this fad got resurrected, apparently by some fans of Campus Superstar Shawn Tok. We know him as the cute boy who sings in a high-pitched tone, but hey, how many kids like him can do that?
But anyway...
They were down to the final five.
Zhengning, Keely, Benjamin and Shawn.
But that's like... four!
Five, including me, sitting on the couch, gorging down on chips.
When the TV was on, Zhengning was already singing.
And oh boy, did I pity that girl.
Emotions? Out.
Pitch-perfect? That's a no-no.
But you know, when you're doing your rendition first, others will capitalise on your mistakes and hit back. Ouch.
Zhengning could have said that.
But Keely did much better.
And I could have chosen to vote for her than watch Engelbert Humperdinck in concert.
But I so wanted to see how Shawn fared.
Alamak!
You could see how pale poor Shawn looked. Either that, or it was due to too much makeup.
Forgetting lyrics, becoming too tense.
He could have said to himself "1,2,3 YES! 1,2,3 YES! 1,2,3 YES!"
Problem is he did't know what he didn't know that is, Empower U.
But anyway, I doubt that he would want to go to Empower U.
Because, when it comes to the hugs, the Assist Team and his fans from MindChamps would be crowding around him and trying to "touch the Deity of Fortune".
Jokes aside.
Benjamin Hum stepped up, but he didn't look "hum ji".
He was calm.
Dude, did you meditate before the show?
So he gave his rendition.
Boy, did he capitalise on Shawn's mistakes.
Next, it was up to dancing.
Don't expect too much, you're not watching Shakira...
